It's rare that I am at a loss for words when it comes to good eats, so I will wrap this up with three words...."Certified Mad Good," Yes, D&N is all that and more. And that's not even getting to the banana pudding that literally shut my mouth up and had me apologizing to the staff because I doubted that it was as good as advertised. Don't sleep on this spot. Everything on the menu is on point

I’m 64 years old, grew up on good food like this in Louisiana. When we moved to San Antonio I knew I’d find plenty of Mexican Food but was worried I’d never get good old down home cookin’ anymore—WELL D & N Kitchen has saved the day!! The food here is excellent-seasoned perfectly and made to order with plenty for leftovers! You couldn’t ask for any nicer folks working here, they make everyone feel just like you are part of their family!! You can’t go wrong with anything you order so definitely stop by and get some of the best food in San Antonio

I wanted seconds of everything.Bae took the rest of the Oxtails and inhaled them quickly.Now, the cabbage was not ready, but the substitutions were so on point!!! But they did bring out the cabbage when it was ready.....they throw licks!!!I can't tell you enough how delicious this place was!!!!!Just go... thank me later!!!!So we wanted something sweet.....lawdy she was out of cake... but had sweet potato cheecacake from her husband birthday!!!! I loved this place I wasn’t skeptical but my family was but after we tried the food they couldn’t doubt me like I told them the food was absolutely divine I got the ox tails while my girlfriend got the riblets and we must say the atmosphere was lovely the people were very friendly and welcoming and the food blew us away the sides were just as quality as the food and the food was well seasoned to perfection. my candied yams were a little cold but that’s the only thing I can take away from this amazing place and I was probably just unlucky. Overall wonderful place I wish I lived near it so I could go more often my San Antonio trip was worth it just for this place.

I looked up places to get ox tails and this place 1 was the closest to me and 2 has the best reviews! And honestly I don’t regret coming here. It was my first time and the ox tails are super delicious and flavorful. The potato salad was good as well as the Mac and cheese. But these OX TAILS boooyyyyy they hit the spot and I will definitely be a returning and consistent customer!!! Thank you

I’ve been looking for a good place to eat, while in the area; and this is it!! Every bite was packed with flavor. Everything was seasoned to perfection, and the sides were just as impressive. But the banana pudding stole the show! Fluffy, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re craving some soulful cooking!

Our family traveled into town for a military graduation and D&N Kitchen came highly recommended. The food was fresh, seasoned well, and reasonably priced. The staff did a phenomenal job recommending food choices that their restaurant was known for. The food did not disappoint, and I felt the need to leave positive feedback. I highly recommend to others in search of a southern comfort meal.

After working at our church, our choir director mentioned that he heard of a good soul food restaurant in the neighborhood. All he knew was that it was at the counter of Polaris and E. Common St. Well, we found it! The restaurant is called D&N's Kitchen. It's not far from downtown and there is plenty of parking. (I saw that they do door dash for those of you stuck in a hotel) It's a small but homey restaurant, and we greeted like family. We walked in a little after 1 pm and there were plenty of seats available, but by the time we left, the restaurant was filling up with guests. We ordered the fish and shrimp plate, a freid ribletts plate, and a brisket sandwich. Also, I ordered 3 pieces of cornbread and swampwater. Of course, our waitress was wonderful, but we also met one of the cooks who was checking on our meals. The ladies sitting near us over heard that I was going to review D&N's Kitchen quickly showed us their order. A fried fish plate and a chicken fried steak covered in brown gravy. OMG! not only did the food look amazing, but all our food came out hot, fresh, and tasted great. The prices were not bad at all, we will make this gem a regular stop. So if you're in the neighborhood, stop in meet some great people, get treated like family, and eat like a king!
